Vent: Spent 3 hours reassembling my bike chain wrong after a flat tire

I got a flat on my way to work last Tuesday in Chicago, so I pulled over to fix it. I was so sure I knew how to thread the chain back on the rear derailleur, but I did it backward and the chain locked up when I tried to pedal. Had to walk my bike 2 miles to a shop and pay $25 for the guy to show me the right way. Has anyone else been so confident about a simple repair that you made it way worse?

Yeah "so sure" will do that. Always snap a phone pic of the chain path before you pull it off.
