Volunteered at the shelter, my 'adopt don't shop' stance took a hit

I always judged people who bought from breeders, but after 4 shifts at the Austin shelter seeing the same 12 dogs return weekly, I'm honestly wondering if some folks just need a predictable puppy for their kids, has anyone else's moral line blurred that fast?

Your mileage may vary, but I've learned it's less about the source and more about matching the right animal to the right home, whether that's a pound puppy or a bred one.
