Had a full-blown argument with a guy at the Portland comic shop over a $5 price difference
Was at Excalibur Comics last Saturday. Found a copy of 'The Dark Knight Returns' #1, priced at $75. Guy next to me said he saw it for $70 online. We got into it about grading and fair market value for like 20 minutes. He wouldn't let it go, kept saying I was getting ripped off. I ended up buying it anyway because the condition was mint. How do you handle price debates with other collectors in person? Does it ever get that heated for you?

Honestly I just say "cool find" and keep looking at what I want. Getting into it over five bucks is a waste of time you could spend actually enjoying the hobby. The price is the price if you're happy with the book.

My cousin once argued over a quarter at a yard sale, it was honestly pretty sad.

Is a five dollar difference worth that much stress?

Right? It's crazy how such a small amount can feel like a huge deal in the moment. I've totally been there.
