I found a rare Batman comic on the floor and had a total fan moment of truth

I was digging through bins at a comic swap meet last month. A near-mint Detective Comics issue was just lying there, like it fell out. My heart raced because I've been hunting for this one for years, lol. Then I saw a dude across the room patting his pockets, looking super stressed. I had to choose between sneaking it into my stack or speaking up. I told him, and he hugged me, which was awkward but nice. Part of me still thinks about that comic sometimes, lmao.

Respect that you did the honest thing even with temptation right there. That kind of integrity says more about a collector than any single issue ever could. Bet that good feeling outlasts the regret over the comic itself.

Noticed the same thing in how daily small choices shape who we are over time. It all adds up.

Know exactly what you mean. My daily choice to hit snooze five times has expertly shaped my talent for being late, lol. It's a masterpiece of bad habits.

Man, that reminds me of my buddy who found a signed baseball in a thrift store bin. He was already at the register when he saw a kid crying near the sports stuff, saying he lost his grandpa's ball. My friend turned right around and gave it back, even though he really wanted it. He said the mom cried and the kid just lit up. He still talks about that kid's face more than the ball. Makes you think, right?
