I used to think bagging and boarding every single comic was a waste of money

After spending $80 to replace a water-damaged issue of Immortal Hulk #1, I finally tried those E. Gerber Mylites everyone on here swears by. Has anyone else had a single loss flip their whole storage strategy?

@william_harris still not convinced moisture is that big of a deal for most comics.

That water damage is rough, I feel your pain. I lost a whole longbox to a basement flood years ago and that's what finally pushed me into acrylic cases for anything over $20. The Mylites are good but I actually switched to Comic Pro Line's half-backs for my key books, they're a bit sturdier and seal tighter if you're really worried about moisture.

Are we really at the point where a little moisture means you need full acrylic cases now? I get it for a rare key book or something, but for your average $20 dollar comic it feels like overkill to me.
