I visited the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego and think the whole experience is overrated for actual comic book fans

The place focuses way too much on movie props and cosplay displays when I walked through last month, and I saw maybe three actual comic book pages on the walls, so has anyone else felt like these museums are forgetting the source material that started it all?

The Geppi's Entertainment Museum in Baltimore had whole rooms of actual Golden Age comics when I went, and it made all the difference for me. Have you checked out any smaller comic-specific shows instead of the big museum spaces?

Problem with Geppi's is it's basically one guy's collection. Smaller shows feel less like a museum exhibit and more like you're digging through someone's garage. That raw energy, the smell of old paper and dust, is something a glass case can't give you.
