I was at a small con in Portland and saw a dad explaining the X-Men to his little kid, and it hit me different

Totally get what you mean, @henryp40. Saw something like that at a library last month, a mom pulling an old "Dark Phoenix Saga" trade for her daughter. The kid was asking who the "funny blue guy" was, meaning Nightcrawler. It's wild to think these stories we grew up on are brand new to someone else. That dad in Portland is probably having the best time right now, just laying all that groundwork about mutants and prejudice. Makes you realize these characters really do stick around for a reason.

Wait, the kid didn't know the X-Men? That's wild to me. I feel like those characters are just in the air we breathe by now. Guess the torch has to get passed sometime.

Those stories feel pretty dated now, honestly.
