My comic shop guy told me I was reading the wrong way
I used to just grab the newest issue of whatever looked cool and read it alone, but last month he said I should try reading whole story arcs in order, even if that means going back to older books. I started with the whole 'Dark Phoenix Saga' from the 80s and it made the new X-Men stuff make way more sense. Do you guys read single issues as they come out or wait for the full trade?

Your guy gave you solid advice lol. I mostly wait for trades now because reading a whole arc in one sitting is just better. Single issues feel too short, and you forget what happened by the next month. The only time I grab singles is if it's a huge event and I want to avoid spoilers online.

Isn't this just how we do everything now? We binge whole shows instead of waiting weekly, we save articles to read later all at once. It's all about getting the full story in one go because our brains are too busy to hold onto pieces for a month. Waiting for the trade is the same thing, it's just managing your attention.

But what about the art? Trades are great for story flow, but you lose something when you don't see the monthly art fresh. Like, those double-page spreads hit different in a single issue. Waiting for the trade means you miss out on that first look feeling. It's like watching a movie in theaters versus at home later.
