PSA: My longbox tipped over and I learned a hard lesson about backing boards
So this happened on Saturday morning. I was reaching for a book on the top shelf and my elbow clipped the corner of my longbox. The whole thing went down. About 60 books hit the floor. Some of them slid under the couch and behind the radiator. I just stood there for a second. Then I got down on my hands and knees and started sorting. The worst part was my copy of Uncanny X-Men 266. The corner got bent bad. I had it in a bag and board but the board was thin and old. Two other books got spine creases too. So I spent 3 hours re-bagging everything with fresh boards. Went to the local comic store on Sunday and grabbed a pack of 100 silver age boards for $18. Way thicker than what I had. Now every book in that box feels solid. Has anyone else had a shelf or box fall on them? What did you switch to after?
