Serious question, how do you handle a comic shop that overprices everything?

My local shop in Dayton started marking up new issues by $2 over cover price, which adds up fast when you pull 15 books a month. I tried talking to the owner, but he just shrugged and said 'supply and demand.' So last month, I switched my entire pull list to a smaller shop 20 minutes away that still does cover price. It took an hour to move everything over, but I'm saving over $30 a month now. Has anyone else had to switch shops because of price hikes like that?

Yeah, I read an article about shops doing that to cover their own higher costs from Diamond. It still feels bad as a customer, so voting with your wallet is the only real move. Good on you for making the switch.

That $2 markup is actually pretty standard for a lot of shops now, especially on new books. Honestly, it's how many of them stay open with rising costs from distributors. You did the right thing finding a shop that fits your budget, though.

Seriously, it's just comic books. You found a cheaper shop, problem solved without the online drama.
