Serious question, I tried to get my friend into comics with a Batman book and it totally failed
I gave my buddy the 'Batman: Year One' graphic novel last week, thinking it was a perfect start, but he said he found it slow and confusing. I learned that not every classic works as a first read for someone new. What's a better comic to give a total beginner to hook them?

Yeah, "not every classic works as a first read" is so true... maybe try a single issue story instead of a whole book.

My first classic was a short story by Shirley Jackson. It felt way less intimidating than a whole novel. That single-issue idea really works.
