Shoutout to the comic shop owner who saved my kid's birthday party

Last Saturday at my son's 8th birthday party, I realized I forgot the goodie bags with the small comics I bought. We were at the park in Springfield and the party started in 30 minutes. I called the local shop, Comics Plus, and the owner, Mike, heard the panic in my voice. He put together 12 bags with leftover Free Comic Book Day issues and some stickers in under 20 minutes, and only charged me for the bags. I picked them up on the way and the kids loved them. Has anyone else had a local shop go way out of their way to help?

Disagree with Keith. That's exactly what personal service looks like to me.

My local shop in Oakwood used to feel like just another store. After they helped me find a rare back issue for my dad's birthday, I saw they're really part of the community. That kind of service makes all the difference.

My Oakwood store just sells things. Never got that personal touch.

Guess they missed the memo on the "personal" part of personal service.
