The 1985 Wolverine issue I almost skipped had a hidden backstory

Found a beat-up copy of Uncanny X-Men 205 at a flea market in Akron for $3. The cover looked rough, but the letter page had a note from Claremont about how the Wolverine fight scene was originally planned for issue 198. Has anyone else found a random issue that changed how you read a whole arc?

Man, that letter page detail changes everything about how I read those issues now. Claremont dropping that in a fan letter feels like finding a secret key to the whole storyline, especially since Wolverine's fight in 205 always seemed to come out of nowhere. That $3 beat-up copy just became the most valuable thing in your collection, not for the cover, but for that hidden context.
