Went to a comic con in Des Moines and noticed the vendor drama
I was at the Des Moines Comic Con last weekend, and I saw two vendors almost get into a fight over booth placement. One guy was selling vintage Marvel issues for $30 each, and the other guy had the same ones for $20, right next to him. It got me thinking, do fans usually side with the cheaper guy or the one who sets up first? Has anyone else seen stuff like this get ugly at a smaller show?

You mentioned "two vendors almost got into a fight over booth placement" and that really stuck with me. Man, that's rough to see at a smaller show where everyone's supposed to be having a good time. I've been to a few cons like that and it always feels awkward when money gets in the way of the fun. The cheaper guy probably thought he was just being fair to fans, but the first vendor might have been worried about covering his own costs for the weekend. Either way, it's a bummer when things get heated over something that should be simple.

Number one rule I learned is to never haggle on price right next to someone else's booth. Pull the person aside or wait til they're walking past you.

That "cheaper guy thought he was just being fair to fans" bit - did you ever clock if he was actually making less profit or just undercutting on purpose?
