A simple change to my comms procedure made a huge difference on a recent bridge inspection

We swapped from a basic 'go/no-go' system to a full phonetic alphabet for tool requests on a job over the Mississippi. The clarity cut our average tool retrieval time from about 90 seconds down to maybe 20, which adds up over a 6-hour dive. Anyone else found a small procedural tweak that paid off big?

90 seconds to 20 just from using phonetics? That seems like a crazy big jump for just talking clearer.

Six hours of diving over the Mississippi sounds intense.

Read a study on how phonetics reduce errors in noisy work sites.
