Dive boat in Tacoma looks totally different now

Stopped by the old pier in Tacoma last week, the one we used to launch from back in 09. The whole setup is fancy now, digital gas blending stations and all that. I remember when we just had a rusty compressor and a logbook with grease smears on every page. It got me thinking about how the gear changed too, my old double 85s felt like tanks compared to the skinny twinset some kid was rolling around with. Not saying it's worse, just a different world. Anyone else get weird nostalgia checking out their old home ports?

Same thing happened at my local climbing gym last month. They swapped out the old rope bins for these touchscreen check-in kiosks and I stood there like a lost grandpa trying to figure out where to clip my harness. It's not just diving or climbing though, even the corner diner by my house went from paper menus to QR codes on every table. I get that things move forward and safety stuff is probably better now, but there's something about the worn out, patched up gear that made the whole thing feel more real. Sometimes progress just makes you feel like you're watching from the outside of your own history.
