On my last saturation job, I noticed a split on how we manage tool belts.
Tbh, half the team clips everything to their harness, the other half uses a floating bag. I've seen both ways save time or cause snags. What's your method?

Clipping everything directly to the harness sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. That method is just asking for things to catch on every piece of structure. The floating bag seems like the obvious choice to avoid all that.

Used to be all about clipping stuff to my harness, thought it was faster. Then I got my spool line hooked on a ladder rung during a wreck penetration, total pain. Now I'm team floating bag for sure, keeps the gear tidy and way less snag risk.

My last dive on the North Sea platform really showed me the bag is better. Cole_baker is totally right about things catching, I watched a guy spend ten minutes untangling his spools from a valve bank. That floating setup just keeps everything contained and out of the way.

Oh man, that's so true about gear catching on stuff. I mean, it's like @viola_allen said, you don't realize the risk until you're stuck. I see this everywhere, people sticking to a messy way of doing things just because it's how they've always done it.
