Stop over-greasing your Kirby Morgan exhaust valves

I keep seeing guys pack grease into those little fittings until it oozes out everywhere. That actually blocks the check ball from sealing right. Try just one pump every 20 dives and you'll stop getting that slow leak on descent.

My old dive buddy used to call that the "grease volcano" approach. He'd pump until it looked like a yellow zit ready to pop, then wonder why his exhaust kept whistling on the way down.

Buddy did this last month on Lake Erie. @linda114's term fits perfectly. Flared up like a grease bomb.

Man, that's rough... nothing worse than a dive day getting messed up by something like that. I feel for your buddy, we've all been there trying to save a few bucks and ending up with a headache. Hope his regulator got sorted out before any real trouble.
