That 'free' mask cleaning service nearly cost me a dive

Got a deal from a gear shop in Norfolk to have my regs and mask ultrasonically cleaned for $40. Picked them up three days later, everything looked spotless. First dive after that, my mask fogged so bad I could barely read my SPG, even after using my usual defogger. Turns out the cleaner stripped the factory anti-fog coating off the lens. I had to buy a new mask for $130 since the shop wouldn't own up to it. Anyone else had a shop wreck their gear with a 'cleaning package'?
