That time I splurged on a Kirby Morgan hat light mount
I got tired of my handheld light getting in the way during a long inspection job in the Gulf, so I dropped about $350 on a proper helmet mount from Dive Lab. It felt like a lot for a bracket, but having both hands free to work on the rigging for six hours straight was a total game changer. Anyone have a good source for the replacement O-rings on those things? Mine are starting to flatten out after a year.

That "game changer" feeling is real. I went with a cheap DIY strap mount for a while and it just never held steady. Finally getting a proper one made me wonder why I waited so long. For the O-rings, my local shop just orders them in bulk from the manufacturer.

Idk, I feel like $350 is steep for a bracket but if you're using it that much it pays for itself pretty quick. The O-ring thing is a common problem though, those little rubber bits always go first. Maybe try hitting up some commercial dive shops online, they usually have spares for way less than Dive Lab charges. Or just measure the diameter and grab a pack from McMaster-Carr, that's what a buddy of mine does.

Respectfully, I see it a little different. $350 is a lot of money for a piece of metal, even if it's a nice piece of metal. I'd rather just get a solid fabric mount for $50 and replace it yearly, saved myself $250 right off the bat.
