Two claims about mask defogger, one failure at 60 feet

I've always used the spit method for my mask, worked fine for years. Last month on a job near Galveston, I tried that commercial anti-fog spray everyone was raving about. It fogged up bad at 60 feet, had to surface twice to clear it. My buddy swears by the spray but I'm back to spit now. Anyone else had a product fail on them when the old trick held up better?

Spit never fails. Stick with what works.
