Finally gave in to cable labeling after a networking job at a school

I always thought labeling cables was a waste of time. Then last month I had to trace a bad run in a server room at a middle school. Must have been 40 cables all tangled and none of them marked. Took me 3 hours to find the one that was causing the dropout. Now I label everything as soon as I plug it in. Anyone else stubborn about this until they got burned?

Read a thread once where a guy used color-coded heat shrink.

The guy probably spent more on the shrink wrap than on the actual wires.
