Finally switched from a zip-tie nightmare to velcro straps for cable management...

Used to zip-tie every cable in a server rack so tight you'd need cutters to move anything, but after one swap where I had to redo 30 cables in under an hour, I grabbed a roll of velcro from a pal at a shop down the street... Has anyone else found that velcro cuts downtime way more than they expected?

I read somewhere that zip ties cause about 15% more downtime in server rooms compared to velcro. That stat matched up with my own experience after the first time I had to cut through a mess of them during an emergency swap.

Wait 15%? That's actually a real number someone measured?

Wait @kim.jake, you're telling me there's actual data behind the zip tie vs velcro debate? I used to just grab whatever was closest, but after reading this I'm definitely switching to velcro for my next build.
