Hit 10,000 repaired laptops last Tuesday and had to stop and think about it

I've been doing this since 2002 (started in a tiny shop in Akron), and I keep a log of every machine that crosses my bench. Last Tuesday I finally hit 10,000. It's wild to think about how much has changed - I used to swap IDE drives and pray the master/slave jumpers were right. Now most of my work is just swapping SSDs and cleaning out bloatware. Does anyone else track their numbers or am I just weird about it?

I still can't even keep track of how many socks I've lost in the dryer.

Most dryers actually don't eat socks, they just get stuck under the rubber seal or behind the lint filter. Check those spots next time and you'll probably find your missing ones.
