I thought I could fix a water damaged laptop with just a hair dryer. A repair in a Denver coffee shop proved me wrong.

What exactly happened when you tried it? Did the hair dryer just not get hot enough, or did you end up making something else worse?

Watched my buddy try this on his Xbox after a soda spill. He blasted it with a hair dryer for like twenty minutes, got impatient, and plugged it in. There was a tiny pop sound and a whiff of burning plastic smell. Turns out he just pushed the liquid deeper into the board and fried a chip when the power went through the leftover moisture.
