Just realized half my clients are running bootable USB sticks as daily drivers
Last month I pulled a 2012 laptop apart that was slower than a dead snail, and the owner swore she'd 'upgraded to an SSD'. Turns out her nephew loaded Ubuntu onto a SanDisk stick and she'd been using that as the boot drive for 6 months. Every time she unplugged it to take a photo off her phone, the machine would freeze mid-email. I see it at least once a month now, people confuse a recovery tool with a permanent fix. Anyone else ever had to explain this without making the customer feel like an idiot?
