Man I used to have one of those ThinkPads back in 2003, thing was built like a tank and somehow survived me dropping it down a flight of stairs.

You're giving that old brick too much credit. I had one from that era and it was basically a hand warmer that happened to run Windows XP. Dropped it from my desk once, landed on the corner, screen cracked like an egg and the hard drive started making sounds like a coffee grinder. Sure the chassis didn't dent, but what good is a tank if the turret falls off every time you hit a bump. Those things were heavy, ran hot, and the batteries lasted about 45 minutes new.

@the_anthony fr, mine took a tumble down concrete steps and still booted up fine somehow.
