That $60 thermal paste kit came with a syringe that broke on first use
Bought a premium thermal paste kit from a random brand on Amazon. Syringe plunger snapped trying to apply it and I lost half the paste on my motherboard. Anyone else had those cheap applicators fail on them?

Spent 20 minutes scraping dried paste off my motherboard with a toothpick and questioning every life choice that led me there. Guess we're both paying the "premium" price for being bad at squeezing things.

Yeah I once spent an hour trying to get thermal paste out of a USB port with a paperclip...

Ngl I kinda disagree though. A paperclip is way too risky, you're asking for a short circuit. I'd rather spend an hour than trash a whole board. Toothpick is the real pro move here.
