The 2am printer fix that broke my brain last week
I was at a client's office in Austin last Thursday trying to fix a network printer that kept dropping offline. Turned out the ethernet cable was pinched behind a filing cabinet, not a driver issue at all. Spent 3 hours troubleshooting software before I even looked at the physical setup. Anyone else ever skip the obvious hardware check and waste half your day on drivers?

I used to think you always had to start with software because that was the hard part, the thing that actually changes. Hardware is just cables and plastic, right? Then I spent six hours on a server that kept rebooting only to find the power strip was plugged into itself through a surge protector daisy chain. Now I check the physical stuff first every single time. It feels like going backwards but it saves me so much headache. Once you've seen a printer held together with duct tape and hope, you don't assume the problem is complicated anymore.

Disagree lol sometimes the software is the real gremlin.

Blame the code first, you'll find the real bug faster.
