Wasted $450 on a 'premium' power supply that killed my drives in 3 months

I bought some boutique PSU everyone raves about on forums and it fried two SSDs and a HDD. Anyone else have a supposed 'A-tier' component that just trashed your gear?

That $450 PSU was probably just a rebranded $80 unit with a fancy sticker.

Oh man, I actually read a deep dive on this exact thing last week. Some reviewer tore apart that $450 unit and found it was literally the same internals as a $80 EVGA model, just with a different shell and a crazy markup. They even showed the circuit board layout side by side and it was identical lol. It's wild how these companies get away with slapping a premium badge on budget parts and charging 5x the price. Honestly, the only thing you're paying for is the brand name and maybe a slightly better fan or warranty.

Five times the price just for a different shell?" That's insane, I can't believe someone actually proved it with side by side circuit boards. These companies really have no shame.
