A guy in Omaha said my broom finish looked like a cheap driveway
He pointed out my broom was too stiff and I was dragging it too fast, leaving deep grooves. I switched to a softer bristle brush and now I pull it slow, almost flat, for a tight, smooth texture. Anyone else have a tip for getting that perfect light broom mark on a sidewalk pour?

Angle is everything. I used to hold the broom handle way too high, like I was sweeping leaves. Now I keep it down low, almost parallel to the slab. It lets the bristles just kiss the surface instead of digging trenches. That light touch is what gives you those clean, shallow lines instead of deep scars.

Yeah I feel you on that. I learned the hard way too, kept the handle up high and ended up with these angry looking lines that stuck out like crazy. Once I dropped that angle down it was night and day, the broom just slides instead of fighting you. Took a few tries to get the pressure right, but now I barely push at all and the finish comes out way cleaner. It's one of those things that sounds too simple but makes all the difference.

Ever try a wetter mix? I used to think that was wrong but it really helps the broom glide.

Got roasted for my broom work too, man. My first patio looked like a waffle iron went to war with it. The wet mix tip is a game changer for sure.
