Forked out $300 for a power trowel rental and it was a total lemon

I rented a power trowel from the big box store down on Elm Street last Friday, got it home and the blade was wobbling like crazy after ten minutes. Turned a 4 hour slab finishing job into a mess of hand work and I still had to pay for the whole day. Anybody else get burned by a bad rental and have to eat the cost?

Got a pressure washer rental once that quit spraying after fifteen minutes. Lucky for me they gave me a partial refund after I complained for a solid hour.

Read a post on Reddit where a guy rented a wood chipper and it just ate the first branch then died. He spent like two hours on the phone with customer service while his yard was still full of branches. Seems like rental places sometimes forget to check their own equipment before handing it over. Partial refund is decent but you wasted a whole afternoon for nothing. The whole "we'll make it right" thing usually means you have to fight for it.

Did you at least get a free bag of chips for your trouble? Sounds like they gave you the "barely works" special.
