Heard a young finisher say power trowels are the only way to get a smooth slab
After 22 years in this trade I still get better results hand finishing complex edges and stairs than any machine can do, and that kid could probably learn something if he put down the trowel machine once in a while - anyone else still prefer the old way for tricky pours?

Power trowels are the only way" - same folks who think apps replace actual skill.

Power trowels can't read the concrete like a good finisher can.

Tried both ways and the hand finish always held up better longer.
