Just finished a 10,000 square foot slab pour in one day

We had a crew of six guys and started at 4 AM in this new warehouse district outside of Boise. I mean, we were moving non-stop, and I honestly didn't think we'd get the bull float and final trowel pass done before dark. We hit the last edge at about 7:30 PM, just as the sun was going down. Has anyone else pulled off a pour that big with a small crew like that? I'm still kinda shocked we managed it.

Man, my back hurts just reading that. I once tried to pour a small patio by myself and ended up with a lumpy mess that looked like a topo map.

Honestly that topo map look is too real. I had the same lumpy mess on my first solo pour. What saved me was renting a power screed from the hardware store. That thing vibrates the concrete flat as you pull it. Still a ton of work, but way better than trying to level it all by hand with a board. My back was shot but at least the slab was smooth.

Yeah, a buddy of mine had a similar crazy day with a small crew, and @murray.jana, it definitely didn't end with a topo map, just a lot of tired guys staring at a perfect floor.

That's insane with six guys. My whole body hurts just thinking about it.
