Just finished a 10,000 square foot slab solo and the number still shocks me.

It was for a new warehouse in Boise and the boss gave me three days. I hit the last trowel pass at hour 28, fueled by nothing but bad coffee and a stubborn streak. That's the biggest single pour I've ever handled start to finish by myself. Anyone else ever surprised themselves by pulling off a job that big alone?

Remember that gas station coffee that tasted like burnt tires and regret? That stuff could power a small city. I swear the worse it tastes, the more it works. There's a direct link between awful coffee and getting impossible jobs done. The good stuff just makes you want to sit around.

Honestly that coffee sounds like the real MVP.

That coffee probably cost more than my lunch.
