Just read that concrete sweat is a real thing in humid climates

Was looking up curing tips for a job in Houston next month and found out concrete can literally release moisture on hot humid days, causing floor coatings to peel. Has anyone else run into this or am I overthinking it?

Houston's moisture vapor issue is actually worse in winter than summer.

Used to think concrete was just ROCK solid once it cured, but yeah, that "sweating" thing is real. Totally changed my mind about doing coatings down here in the summer.

My garage slab here in Phoenix was 85 degrees at midnight back in July, and I had to explain to a buddy why his epoxy was peeling up in sheets after three weeks. The moisture vapor transmission rate through concrete is no joke, it can be like half a gallon per 1000 square feet per day depending on the mix and the ground underneath. I know people hate hearing this but a lot of the sweating issues come from bad prep work or using coatings that ain't rated for the local hydrostatic pressure. You can beat the problem with the right primer and a moisture meter test before you even open the bucket.
