Looked at my log book and realized I've poured over 500 miles of curb and gutter

Added it all up from my last 15 years on the road crew for the county, and it came out to more than 500 miles. That's like driving from Chicago to St. Louis, just in concrete forms. Makes you think about all the rain, heat, and busted screeds it took to get there. Anyone else ever add up their lifetime yardage and get a bit of a shock?

500 miles of curb is insane, makes @gibson.avery's spice rack look easy.

I used to roll my eyes at people who got all dramatic about organizing, honestly. But then I spent 45 minutes aligning my spice jars by height and color last weekend and I totally get the pride now lol. Started out just trying to find the paprika and ended up with a full blown OCD session on the counter. So yeah, 500 miles of curb might be a bit extreme, but I get the feeling. That spice rack probably looks better than my whole kitchen.

Ever have a day where you just stared at a finished section and felt that weird mix of pride and exhaustion?

Just spent 20 minutes looking at my newly organized spice rack, @kimmurphy. That feeling is why I'm now too tired to actually cook anything.
