My brand new magnesium float cracked right down the middle on a job in Fresno
Honestly, it was a Tuesday morning pour for a small driveway extension. I was maybe two hours into finishing when I heard this sharp snap and the handle just gave way. Tbh, I had only bought the thing from a local supplier about a month ago, so it wasn't some old, worn-out tool. Has anyone else had a magnesium float fail on them that fast, or did I just get a total lemon?

A brand new float in just two hours?

It's a rebuild, not a brand new float, @victorh81. They're showing the final assembly after weeks of prep work. Makes more sense when you see the whole process.

But what if the video is still misleading? Showing the final two hours makes it look way easier than it really is. People might think building a float is quick and simple now. They should show more of the hard prep work too, not just the fun assembly part. That would give a much better picture of the whole effort.
