Picked a magnesium float over a steel one for my last patio pour in Phoenix
The steel was dragging too much on that 100-degree mix so I switched to magnesium and it sealed up way smoother, has anyone else noticed magnesium handles heat better on flatwork?

Saw a contractor on YouTube say magnesium floats are way lighter in the heat.

Did he mention if they hold up better or just lighter?

I saw that same video actually, and he really seemed to think they're just lighter, not necessarily more durable. My back hurts just thinking about lugging a regular float around all day, so that alone makes magnesium worth a look to me lol. It's rough out here when you're already tired and your tools feel like they're fighting you too. I feel for anyone who has to use these things for hours on end, it's no joke.
