Shoutout to the guy who told me to try a 24 inch bull float on a garage slab. The finish was way smoother than my usual 48.

That "blown away" feeling hits hard when you realize you've been making things harder for yourself the whole time. It reminds me of how I used to always reach for the biggest pan in the kitchen until I tried a small one for eggs and suddenly everything came out better.

My buddy's crew swore by the big floats for driveways. Then they tried a smaller one on a patio pour last month and were totally blown away by the difference.

That "blown away" feeling makes you wonder what else they've been doing the hard way.

We had the same thing happen with trowels. Used a big 16-inch for years on everything. Grabbed a smaller 10-inch for a tight bathroom floor job and the control was insane. You can really work the cream in corners without messing up your edges. Now the big one only comes out for open slabs.
