The laser level I mocked in 2019 is now the first tool I grab
Back when my buddy brought a rotary laser to a sidewalk pour near Dayton, I laughed and said my string line was good enough. Then he set grade in about 10 minutes while I spent an hour rechecking my pins, and the slab came out dead flat. I bought a green beam unit for $220 last spring and haven't touched a chalk line for forms since. Anyone else switch over and find their old methods feel slow now?

Give it a few muddy jobs and a dead battery on site. String never runs out of power or needs a clean lens.
