TIL that $40 harbor freight trowel has held up better than my $120 marshalltown
Bought a cheap one as a backup last spring when I was doing a big driveway in Phoenix. Figured it'd last maybe one job but it's still going strong after 8 months of daily use. Anyone else have a budget tool that surprised them?

Honestly, has yours started holding a decent edge after a few weeks or is it still dull?

That 8 months in Phoenix heat is a real test. I've heard guys say the cheap steel actually work-hardens over time from all the flexing, so it gets tougher while the expensive ones stay brittle and crack. Have you noticed any warping or edge rolling on yours yet?
