Warning: lost $340 on a laser level that was useless on a bright slab
Back in 2019 I dropped $340 on a green beam laser level because a guy at the supply yard swore it would save me time on grade checks. I used it on maybe three pours and every single time the sun washed the line out so bad I could not see it past 15 feet. So I went right back to my old string line and a marking crayon, which cost me about $4 and never once let me down. I finally sold the thing on Marketplace last month for $60 to a guy doing indoor work, and honestly I felt bad taking his money. Nobody warned me that outdoor visibility is a whole different ballgame from a basement remodel. If you pour outside in direct sun, what are you using for grade that does not quit on you?
