Flipped a breaker at my sister's place in Tulsa and the power didn't come back, so I started reading the utility's smart meter page and now I'm down a rabbit hole about peek demand
So last Tuesday I'm at my sister's house in Tulsa helping her move a washer and I trip a breaker in the garage. Easy fix right? I flip it back and half the house stays dark. She calls the utility and the guy on the phone says their end shows a demand spike on her meter around 4pm, but nobody was running anything big at 4pm. I pull up the smart meter portal myself and there it is, a little bar graph showing usage jump to like 7 kilowatts for 15 minutes. Nobody was home. She works till 5. So now I'm sitting on her porch googling how these meters report and why a house with the AC off would spike like that. I'm not saying it's some big cover up, but the timing lines up weird with a notice she got in the mail about a rate change tied to peak hours. Anybody here work for a co-op or have one of these meters that logged usage when you were gone? I want to know if I'm chasing a glitch or something real.
