Found a simple way to track down original sources for conspiracy claims

Kept seeing the same 'Mandela Effect' video clip get shared everywhere with zero context. I started searching for the exact quote plus the date '2013' and found the original interview buried on a tiny blog. How do you guys usually verify the stuff that goes viral in these debates?

Totally divorced from its original context" is a bit dramatic, right? Most of this stuff is just people sharing weird videos for fun. Do we really need to track down the student film crew for every spooky picture?

Oh man, that's smart! I had a similar thing happen with a weird photo of a "ghost" in an old house. It was EVERYWHERE. I got curious and just searched the street name from the background. Turns out it was from a student film project from like 2010, and someone just cropped out the film crew. It's crazy how just adding one specific detail to a search can find the real story. Makes you wonder how much other stuff out there is just totally divorced from its original context.
