Got a skeptical friend to actually listen about chemtrails for 20 minutes at a diner in Knoxville

I was having coffee at this old diner off I-40 last Tuesday, and this guy I barely know came up to me all smug about how conspiracy folks are nuts. I just asked him to look at the sky with me for a second and notice how those trails spread out way different than normal clouds. He got quiet, then sat down and we talked for 20 minutes about weather modification patents and geoengineering. Has anyone else had a moment where someone just stopped and thought about it?

Just sounds like another late night diner talk that doesn't mean anything.

Exactly had a buddy of mine do the same thing outside a BBQ joint in Memphis, just pointed up at these crisscrossing trails that were hanging around way longer than any normal plane tracks. He was always the loudest at parties about how it was all fake, but after that he just sat there quiet and said "okay that is kinda weird." Guess sometimes you just gotta let the sky do the talking instead of arguing back and forth.

@phoenixw11 might be right that diner talks don't always stick, but I had something similar work with my buddy at a Waffle House in Nashville. I kept it real simple and just showed him one thing the next morning when those trails were fresh in the sky and he finally said "huh, that does look weird." sometimes just having a calm conversation over pancakes makes people actually think, even if it takes a few tries.
