Had a talk with my dad about JFK that totally flipped my view

He's been deep into the lone gunman theory for like 40 years. But last week at dinner he just casually said 'maybe there was a second shooter after all, the acoustics study from the 70s has some merit.' It hit different because he never changes his mind about anything. I found the House Select Committee report online afterward and read through 12 pages of it... now I'm not sure what to think anymore. Anyone else have a family member suddenly switch sides on a big conspiracy?

Nah. Honestly? I think you're overthinking this one. People change their minds about small stuff all the time. Your dad probably just read something new or saw a documentary. Doesn't mean it's this huge life event. The JFK thing is ancient history at this point. Like what difference does it make now anyway? Nobody's going to do anything about it.

@parker_palmer44 It's usually just some random YouTube rabbit hole that gets people, not a big deal.

Think about it this way though: what's actually the harm in gently asking him what made him change his mind? Isn't that how you'd find out if it was just a new book or something deeper going on with him?
