I laughed at my uncle for stocking 6 months of food in 2019, now I'm the one asking him questions
Back in 2019 my uncle in Boise filled his whole garage with buckets of rice and beans and I gave him a hard time about it at Thanksgiving, told him he was watching too much stuff online. Then in March 2020 I stood in a grocery store line for 40 minutes and half the shelves were empty, and I felt like a real idiot. I'm not saying he knew something nobody else did, he just owned a small farm and thought it was smart to be ready. What got me was how fast normal stuff like flour and yeast just vanished, took me 3 weeks to find a bag of flour anywhere. These days I keep maybe 2 weeks of extra food in the closet, nothing crazy like him. Where do you all draw the line between being ready and being paranoid, like how much is too much?
