I used to think the 'birds aren't real' thing was just a joke, but a video from a 2018 drone expo in Vegas made me actually look at the wiring.
Has anyone else seen that clip where the guy points out the tiny servos on a 'pigeon' model that's way too detailed for a prank?

Oh come on, that's just good engineering. People build insanely detailed models for fun, you know? It's way more likely than a global bird swap.

ruby_jones says it's a prop, but that's the thing - those wires weren't just for show. I watched a guy who restores old electronics break down that footage and he pointed out the power routing looks like it's meant to keep it airborne for hours, not sit on a shelf.

Look, it's a drone expo. Of course they have hyper-realistic models to show off the tech. People build crazy detailed stuff for hobbies too. That wiring could be for a movie prop or an art project. It's fun to joke about, but taking it seriously feels like a stretch.
