Just realized how much better it is to check the original source now
Back in the day, I'd hear a wild claim on a podcast and just accept it. Last year, a friend told me the moon landing footage was proven fake by a 'NASA document'. I spent an hour and found the real paper from 1967, and it was about camera lens coatings. The difference was taking ten minutes to look for myself instead of trusting a summary. Does anyone have a good site for finding old government reports?

Reminds me of when my uncle swore he had a government memo about aliens. Turned out to be a declassified weather balloon report from the 50s. People see what they want in those old docs.

Check the National Archives website for a lot of that stuff. It can be a bit clunky to search, but it's the official source. I've found some interesting old manuals on there.
